The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges for people across the world, leaving in its wake unemployment, staggering losses in business, complete shutdown of companies. The AV industry was not spared either. The economy has contracted disastrously, with global supply chains and connectivity stalled for months. However, the AV community continued to remain optimistic, and 2022 has been the year that the industry bounced back with both ‘ears and eyes’ sharp as ever!

With digitization and globalization becoming the new norms, AV solutions are high in demand – they are critical to success for any enterprise. It is, however, just the beginning and with time, the AV industry will become indispensable for businesses.

AV Industry Size

We are massive! No kidding – valued at over $200 billion, and predicted to reach $326 billion by the year 2026, and grow further! As a society – both domestic and global – reliance on technological solutions is spiraling upwards

As a part of this astounding industry, we are enabling and facilitating our clients in setting up, building, and sustaining flexibility and adaptability in their working styles. It’s all about us setting and following best practices, providing ease and comfort, and working within budgets – both in the commercial and residential AV market!

There is no doubt that the AV industry is essaying a pivotal role in how the world communicates, and this role is set to magnify, as the world continues to evolve. Here are some interesting and conclusive trends within our massive AV industry:

Going Green

Supporting green buildings and ensuring that AV solutions correlate to the data points of such efforts. Green buildings are the ones that have acquired energy and environment design certification – factors such as occupancy, energy, water usage, and minimal carbon footprint. AV solutions and integration are expected to help their clients achieve and sustain their ‘green’ goals.

Better WiFi Technology

Rapidly accelerating AV technology is being well-supported by a rapid increase in WiFi speed, to ensure that a larger number of devices and solutions can be connected. All of this with fewer hassles and delays, and much lower latency. This report explains the various speeds and WiFi technologies – an interesting and insightful read!

New LED Technologies

MicroLED technology is the latest and set to overtake OLED technology with the same black levels but with higher levels of brightness, lesser power consumption, and a longer lifespan. All these factors are highly appealing for home theatre users and in the commercial space as well. The MicroLED screens are thinner and hence more energy-efficient (consuming about 1/10th of the power of OLED displays). Exciting news for a ‘brighter’ future!

Cloud-based Technology and AV Solutions

The AV industry clients demand around-the-clock operation and service. Cloud computing and AV collaboration have made this possible – conducting operations across the globe in the virtual space, while still communicating in the same way as being in the same room. The AV-Cloud partnership has enabled increased engagement, better communication, and operation from the ‘cloud’ – all ensuring that remote and hybrid work is simple, more efficient and without a break.

AR and VR Technology

Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality have become and will continue to remain at the core of digital advancement, with companies increasing spends by 80%, and hardware accounting for more than half of this projected spending. The major growth is led by consumer services and personal use with approximately $1.6 billion, followed closely by retail – AR is poised to ‘outshine’ VR by next year. A report published by Markets and Markets reveals that “the global AR and VR market is projected to grow from USD 37.0 billion in 2022 to USD 114.5 billion by 2027; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 25.3% from 2022 to 2027”!

AV and UAVs

UAVs or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or Drones, while previously vilified, have now emerged as the next big thing, and with a robust future within the AV industry, especially in the realms of security and control centers. This would be true for example in HNI homes. The use in the corporate sector might be limited given public space usage restrictions. Drones within the AV industry are still a niche area such as videos streamed from drones. Drones would be a valuable addition since they can take and receive photos and videos, and with advancing technology, face recognition, tracing, identifying objects and people, intercepting communication, reporting inconsistencies, and more, is possible.

The Future of the AV Industry

With all the above, it is crystal clear both visually and audibly, that the AV industry is poised for great things. The increased ease of replicating in-person and remote communication and collaboration, more effective and impactful events (live events without a live audience), improved security, and so much more. The pandemic may have hit the industry, but it has also left behind a change in gears that is enabling an acceleration that even we, within the industry, did not deem possible. The future ‘looks and sounds’ great!

Being part of the AV Solutions industry, we know that faulty communication and ineffective channels of communication have disastrous effects. These can reduce productivity, which translates to annual losses averaging $62.4 million. Ramping up internal and external communication is therefore critical, and our AV Solutions and Technologies are the answer and applicable across industries. The following industries top the list on the need and applicability of AV Solutions and Technologies.

Manufacturing

Within this industry, a typical organization would have facilities with several departments and across locations. Connectivity and seamless coordination are of prime importance if operations are to run uninterrupted. With top-line AV technology, customized products, professional installation, and ongoing support – all sites and locations can work together as a seamless whole. Instant messaging, video calling and conferencing, sharing of files, and a lot more. When everyone across a manufacturing organization receives the same message at the same time, decision-making and collaboration are a lot easier. Further, cross-location connectivity makes organizations agile, flexible, and able to scale up faster.

Financial Sector

As any finance person will tell you – every buck saved is a buck earned. Every saving can prove to be the difference between moving past competitors. Hence, financial sector companies must be highly efficient and coordinated across departments and locations. This would prove impossible without the best AV solutions, especially for coordination between locations in different time zones. AV solutions and technology transcend the barriers of time and distance – enabling swift and uniform communication for every person within the organization, irrespective of location. Additionally, state-of-the-art AV technology enables the exchange of information most securely, while enabling easy access to the data by authorized personnel.

The Real Estate Business

Cut the travel time and hassle, while increasing the potential to show listings and earn more. The real estate business can become more agile and efficient, by using AV technology to showcase listings/properties to clients in any location. Video conferencing/calling with potential clients increases trust and helps make better and faster decisions.

Educational Institutions

Visuals and clear sound make learning even more fun. As educational institutions expand their reach, AV technology and learning solutions are becoming indispensable. Post the pandemic, schools can teach children even if they are not physically present, with the help of AV solutions. For larger institutions, such as multi-specialty and faculty universities, AV solutions prove to be the unifying factor. Streamlined, uniform and speedy communication ensures that everyone across the universities is seamlessly connected and informed of the latest updates. The amount of time and effort saved from video meetings and conferences, rather than traversing across acres for a meeting within a university, ensures higher productivity and swift decision-making.

What is all the Fuss about?

In the current market scenario, competition is tough and relentless, and organizations of all kinds are vying for the attention of the customer base. Further, customers have become a lot more demanding, given the number of choices they now have. Hence, companies must achieve everything faster and more efficiently - new designs and products, go-to-market, service delivery, and be easier to work with, and cheaper than others. All this is possible with the best AV solutions and technology and we are proud to essay a consistent role in the operations and success of our clients.
